Hi I also Own an Omni X 5 W and have issues with th 9 Point calibration.
No matter which size I enter at the dialog in the beginning the output frame seems to be always wron size. This should be fixed first, other wise the system always expects different sizes than its producing.
For example I put in 150 mm and Output size of 130 mm and I get something in the 110 mm size.
I use the 2.1 right now hope fully it is fixed soon.
Hi Patrick,
try it manually, beginning with a preset - according to your lens - which has been posted above. So you shouldnât be too far from your goal.
Do not use the 9-point calibration, itâs still crappy, but draw a quadratic rectangle with a horizontal and a vertical line through its center and use this to approach the best results for your Omni.
It takes some black paper and a caliper and some patience, but shouldnât cost you more than an hour. How the parameters affect the trapezoid, bulge and skew can be seen in the screenshots I posted here above.
A little tedious, but itâs worth it anyway! ![]()
Since you are in the process of calibrating the lens, LightBurn cannot know yet how to project the 150x150 square.
Enter a smaller value, (Letâs say 120x120) in the second entry box here:

So that the projected rectangle fits on the workarea.
It will still be larger than the 120mm, but thatâs what the calibration is supposed to correct.
We noticed, that the Scale value can still be a bit off after the calibration, and that itâs currently needed to calibrate the âScaleâ of the axes manually after 9-Point-Calibration.
Here are the detailed steps for that process
We have a task to improve this, and plans for a more accurate â25-Point Calibrationâ
