Camera alignment not cutting to 200mm square but to bed size

Hi

I am new to laser engraving/cutting and Lightburn software as a hobbyist. I bought a Creality Falcon2 Pro and the unit is assembled and ready. I did the camera calibration setup but I am battling with thr camera alignment. The sample image projects to the size of the bed and not to a 200mm square. What am I doing wrong? How can I get the laser to frame on 200x200mm and not the entire bed? I appreciate the help in advance.

Take care

A few questions please:

  1. What camera are you using?
  2. What sample image are you referring to here?
  1. Why are you expecting the image to project to a 200mm square?
  1. Does the camera have a view to the entirely of the laser frame?
  2. Is the work area of the laser 400x415mm?

Hi

Thanks for the response.

  1. I am using the stock camera that came with the Falcon 2 Pro (Falcon Pro camera)

  2. I am referring to the calibration image (the one with number 1, 2, 3, 4 in the four corners), which will be burned on the material.

  3. The wizard for the camera alignment indicates that it will burn on a 200x200mm piece of material.

  4. Yes, the camera has full view of the work area - it was calibrated with the camera calibration wizard and passed successfullly

  5. Yes, the work area (apologies if I use the wrong terminology [I referred to bed size]) is 400 x 415mm

Perhaps of more clarify would be the following image where you can see the sample image exceeding the 200 x 200mm as indicated in the wizard.

I actually found the issue while responding to your reply. The scale was set at 150% and should be 100%. Not sure why it defaulted to 150% but nonetheless I was able to complete the calibration. Thank you

Glad you got something that works. However, note that you need not limit the target spacing to 200x200mm. In fact, the larger the area for the targets the less prone to alignment errors in the process. Generally, you’d want to make the area as large as possible.

That makes perfect sense, thank you. I will find a piece of kraft paper that I can use for the entire work area. I had to make use with what I had at the moment. Thanks for the advice and assistance
