Camera for 1200x900 with lid half the size of the bed

I’d like to add a camera to my Light Object Legend 1200x900 60 watt machine. But, the lid only reveals just over half of the bed when opened.

Can I select a camera based on the dimensions of the bed that are exposed by the open lid? I’m not at the shop now, but I’d guess it’s about 1200 x 500mm area.
