I’ve had Lightburn (1.7.04 currently) a number of years. Off and on I’ve tried to save camera settings for different height material. It never seems to work. I’ve read the documentation and, unless I’m really dense it doesn’t work. This has been on three computers window 10 and eleven.
Camera is calibrated. After doing a test piece I can set x/y shift so things line up almost perfectly. For that material thickness it repeats fine. I export that to a folder as say 3mm. Then I do a new thickness material, to a test then line things up again. I export those settings as say 19mm material thickness.
I can import the original 3mm settings and it is correct. When I try to import the 19mm nothing changes.
I can make a change, and without changing it import from my list. It changes but no matter which one I chose they are all the same.
- If you compare the two exported files can you confirm that the contents are indeed different?
- After importing the 19mm file, if you re-export, can you confirm that the two files match? Or does the export reflect the 3mm configuration?
- If you import the 19mm settings, then restart LightBurn does that change behavior?
I hadn’t thought to examine the files. All exported files are identical.
I have two devices. When I switch devices the correct camera adjustment is there. Any setting I export for that device is identical. When I switch back to the first device it changes to that device.
It seems that I am able to only have one camera setting for each device.
I am importing/exporting to a folder that I created. Is that correct or is there somewhere that Lightburn expects to find these files?
File location is arbitrary.
How are you exporting the files?
It may be easier to create alternative Device configurations for the various height alignment adjustments on the same machine rather than using camera export/import to handle this.
Although I believe your approach should work assuming it’s done correctly. But I have not tried this explicitly. It’s likely going to be a workflow issue or possibly a bug.
in either case, I suspect the other approach of creating a separate device may work better.
I right click on the camera control panel and export to the file folder that I created.
If I’m reading the documentation correctly that’s the way to do it. When I read the file they are all identical.
And to confirm, you are completing the camera alignment process and changing values in Camera Control window before exporting?

I was hoping maybe the latest release might solve my problem of camera settings not being saved. Just tried again with no luck.
