Camera in a soft cover

I bought a camera but not had the chance to try it yet. I hope it will work because Amazon eluded to it - ELP 8mp USB Camera Module with Microphone Autofocus PC Camera for Computer 4K Lightburn Camera for Laser Engraver Mini Auto Focus Webcam Board CCTV USB Surveillance Camera for Raspberry Pi Laptop

I didn’t think about the fact, until now, that my laser cover (for Ortur LM3 LTD) is a cloth case with using slexible plastic for the skeleton. I suppose where I would mount the camera is; therefore, in a moving spot without a ridgid place to fasten to.

I could mount the camera above the entire structure using a fixed extension from the ceiling I suppose. Any thoughts?

Thanks

You need to test whether your camera works with LB, but one of the most important things when using a camera in LightBurn is that the camera and the working surface of your laser cannot move relative to each other, not a single mm or angle degree.

Yes, i’d recommend this. The camera may not move a single mm in relation to the laser frame. A soft cover won’t work at all. There are many cameras that have a mounting arm that is fixed to the back of the laser frame, connecting the camera and laser frame directly. Something like this should be the best option.
