Can anyone help lazer burns dots not smooth lines

everything i try all it does is dots images looks bad help new to this

Hi Tamara, not really sure what you’re trying to do.
I’m guessing you’re looking for the different dithering tools?
Double click your project in ‘cuts/layers’ panel.

It’s all in the ‘image mode’ menu.

What is the firmware running on your laser? If it’s an older version of GRBL, like 0.9, the laser will pause every time the power level changes, which takes forever and doesn’t look good.

If the laser is running GRBL 1.1f or higher, make sure you have laser mode enabled (type $32=1 in the console and press enter). That will tell the machine not to pause with each power change and the results should be much better.

i have grbl thats all it said and i put $32=1 in and it burns dotted lines if i put $32=0 it burns lines but also has travers lines in picture as well i have a universal engraver 3000 40x40

In the console, what does it say when you first power up the laser & plug in the USB?

I have the same laser, and my money is with Chris 1. Switch to Grayscale and see if you get what you are looking for.
