Can anyone identify this S9 board?

Hi. I just bought and fitted some limit switches for my S9 and I’m having issues. Since updating the firmware with the version given on the YT page, the laser does nothing. I’ve read that the version they give you is wrong and that I need to install the S30 FW to fix it. However my board looks slightly different from those saying they have the S30, it’s close, but not exact. Is my board the S30 or another one? I don’t want to go installing the wrong FW again.

Cheers.

The S30 has a different bed size than the S9, it does not make sense to put S30 firmware on your S9 laser.

Here’s where Sculpfun has provided their firmware: SCULPFUN Support – Sculpfun.

Here’s our youtube video on adding limit switches to a diode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FzEu0I_9Lrg

I can’t stop to repeat myself, you should NEVER flash the firmware of current S9 models. Limit switches work out of the box. No need to flash anything. Sculpfun will take down the video soon, hopefully. Many people bricked their devices.

Flashing the wrong firmware is not dramatic, you can flash a new one again. Since S9 mainboards are not produced any more (the laser is outdated since 2021), newer devices are sold with the mainboards that are available at that moment. Try the S6 S9 S10 version first, then S30 version. After flashing, reset the controller by sending $RST=* first.

Wish I’d have seen your comment before installing the switches, Sculpfun need to update the instructions. I took your advice and installed the S30 FW and that did the trick, all working well now. Thanks
