Hello, I am new to Lasers and new to Lightburn. I purchased a WeCreat Vista 10W. I have had success using the MakeIt Software but it is just too basic. I really want to use Lightburn. I have it set up, I have figured quite a few of the obstacles that it has with the Vista. I have run a few material tests. I seem to be able to engrave ok, but I can not for the life of me get it to cut anything. I use mostly Birch Plywood. I have tried the numbers based on Makeit, I have changed those numbers to mms. Nothing works. I ran the attached cut test today and you can see that it didn’t work either, none of it cut through at all. I am at a total loss as to what to try next. I don’t want to just settle for the MakeIt software. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I would change to mm/min.
Have you run a focus test?
Cleaned your lens?
How many passes?
I looked at the focus test and ran it but really didn’t know what to do with it from there. I tried to read in the Forum what to do but it was all so confusing. I know the first time I ran it, nothing showed up. I changed the numbers to 90% power and 3000 speed and it engraved. But then I didn’t know what to do after that. As far as cleaning the lens, I have only had the machine for a couple of weeks. I looked to see how to clean it but couldn’t even find how to do it on the WeCreat website. I have only be trying to do cuts with 1 pass since that is all I need in the MakeIt software. I know the machine cuts just fine. I can do projects all day using the MakeIt software. I just can’t with Lightburn. I will try the mm/min and is if that makes any difference. Thank you for responding. All this laser terminology is all new to me.
Can you go to console window and type in $I (enter) and $$ (enter) and paste here?
Letter I. You need to be connected and then copy the text and paste in your reply.

I will be leaving shortly to go baby sit my granddaughter. I will be back tomorrow afternoon and will check messages right away. Thank you for your help.
So this machine has a focus macro. So should set focus for you.
On my 10w I use around 325mm/min and 90% power, with air assist.
Thank you so much. It does have auto focus. I will try the mm/min tomorrow evening when i get home and see if it makes a difference. And will try your settings. I will let you know on here.
Good evening, I finally got a chance to double check and I am using min/min. The test grid I shared was from someone else. But my Lightburn is set to min/min. If I change it to anything else, it won’t move.
OMGosh, it cut. I kept playing with different settings and I remember when I was setting one of the lines, that I had read that I needed to put 20% on the Z Offset. Once I did that, it cut at 300s 100p 2 passes. So I lowered it to 200s, 100p, 1 pass and it cut that as well. I saved it to my Material library. I can’t thank you enough to just being a sounding board. Thank you!!
