Can I run both old and new version? (1.4.00/1.4.03)

Hi Ever Wise Forum

I am running LB v. 1.4.03 It’s my first time using LB, so it seem to be the natural choice, and yet…
I have access to different cutters(Eduard) and at least two of them are working fine with both versions on different pc’s.
When I connect though, my speed an power parameters goes haywire. Setting a speed in 1.4.03 at 40 the laser moves at 0.3 mm/sec.
The same setting in 1.4.00 and opening the file in 1.4.03 has the laser cutting at 9000 mm/sec.
I can of course correct the parameters for every time, and it would be easier, having them run the same settings. Or… open the file in the version that fits the ‘cutter of the day’, wich though reqires the two versions running on the same laptop. Not nessecerily simultaniously…

Does any of this make sence?

Is it possible?

There are ways of running multiple versions concurrently but with some effort.

I’d suggest in this case it would be better to sort out what might be actually happening and correct for it.

Can you confirm you’re actually comparing apples to apples? Is it possible that you’re using different units between the installations?

Can you take a screenshot of your Cut settings?

Unless you have some truly extraordinary hardware I can all but guarantee that you’re not actually getting close to those speeds.

To get a visual image, 9000mm/sec is about 20 MPH.

Guessing OP is in a metric country… so 32.4 km/h will likely be more impactful. Vroom vroom.

Yeah, I should have included that too.
