I want to engrave inside bottom of 13" inch wood bowl I turned using my Omtech K40 with motorized Z Table and Lightburn. The rim is just tall enough to prevent laser from homing from bowl center or for that matter reaching bowl center from home. when adjusted to correct height for engraving.
I’ve struggled figuring out Z Offset for cutting but it does work. My question is if I can set height at sufficient height to pass over bowl rim then when it reaches job origin (centered) can Z Offset raise bed by the 8 - 10 MM’s it would require to be in focus for engraving?
