Can Lightburn (the design piece) run on a shared network drive or an external hard drive?

My family has a small laser cutter. We tried Lightburn via the trial and are ready to buy, but the license is only good for two computers. I was thinking I could maybe set up a shared drive on my shipping computer and install it there, so we could access the software over the network. We use the cutter’s software for controlling the laser, so it would only be the design tools run over the network.

Even if only one person at a time could use the software that would meet our needs.

My other thought was putting it on an external drive, so whoever needed it that day could take the drive.

Even if you could run it over a network drive the license would need to be activated on the computer running the software.

You could potentially attempt to do some sort of remote desktop solution.

What are your actual needs? LightBurn team has been known to provide a 3rd license for free if requested. You can also add seats beyond the 3rd for an additional cost.

Actual needs are minimal. We make a project maybe once a month between us, but we’re a family of four, and the kids want to be able to design at their desks, not mom and dad’s. Remoting into a central licensed machine might be a workable solution. I appreciate the suggestion.
