I’m using GRBL 1.1h and have parameters $30 & $32 set correctly for variable power. I’ve done many jobs where I would set a min power to stop burning the corners with vector art.
But now last, 48 hours, I only get the max power option. I have continuous power turned off. I’ve looked in shape properties, preferences, settings, advanced layer setting. I’ve tried line and fills and images. I’ve tried both the laser PC and my Design PC same issue on both?
If you’re working on a GRBL controller the only time Min power would be available or relevant would be in grayscale images. In all other contexts Min power is unavailable.
Wow, that’s interesting. I’m sure I’ve done vector art with min and max but if its a constraint of GRBL then I’m mistaken. Thank you the clarification and prompt advice. Cheers
I don’t know how long you’ve been using LightBurn but there was a bug or perhaps not yet implemented featured where Min power was shown as a field on GRBL devices. While the value could be changed it had no effect on the actual burn.
Variable power is handled internally in GRBL and you don’t get to specify the minimum power used there on a per operation basis.
GRBL does have a concept of Min power at the controller level ($31) that can be used to specify the lowest available power level.
