Getting information from you is very difficult. You have asked the same question multiple times and have gotten some very good responses. Your progress is limited by your lack of engagement with the information given freely to you. The forum can HELP you learn - but we cannot MAKE you synthesize information into Knowledge. That is entirely internal to you.

By reading the forum, it should be clear that there are way too many variables for the membership to sort through in order to give you any kind of accurate answers to general “Why can’t I make this work?” questions.

The best answer is … IT DEPENDS… It depends on what you ask?

Your laser power
Your laser focus
Your medium
Your Speed
Your Power
Your # of passes
Your expectations
Engraving Raster images vs. engraving Vector objects

Our crystal ball is not plugged in. We cannot possibly help you without a lot more information from you.

Well having bad brain damage is diffucult so please keep your opinion to yourself cheers

Again, my crystal ball is broken. We CAN help you, and believe it or not, we WANT to help you.

Laser engraving is a very rewarding hobby, but it takes some effort to learn. I would suggest that you enlist someone to help work with you in the shop or to better understand information presented on the forum, if there is a disability barrier. If a term is used that is not clearly understood, please ask for clarification. It does no communication for us to use words that you do not understand. If English is not your primary language, that is OK too, it would help us to meet your needs better if we knew that a translator program was being used.

Rather than abuse the help offered to you, how about posting some photos of what you have achieved so far?

Can you shed sone light on the 8 questions from above?
Your laser power?
Your laser focus?
Your medium?
Your Speed?
Your Power?
Your # of passes?
Your expectations?

Ryan,

I mentioned against this in our private offline emails. It really serves no benefit to anyone.

Laser technology IS NOT plug-n-play. There are a lot of variables in materials, machines, and results. And doing images are at the top of the scale in difficulty. There are no immediate answers to the problems without detailed information from you. We are not being difficult, and we know you are not either. Questions and answers are just part of the learning process.

This Forum gets members from all over the world with different levels of understanding. Some get upset because there is a communication or understanding issue. But you will find members are patient when trying to help each other. Do not get discouraged. Like @JimNM sort of said, The answers you get depends entirely on what you tell us.

By the way, it does not hurt to say it again. Laser images is the most difficult thing you can do. But there are some stunning examples out there, in the I Wish I Could category.

Thanks for your help its just the way people word things to me on about me asking the same questions a few times…im am very forgetful so people need to understand and not jump in

There are some steps to follow.

Safety glasses on Everytime and all the time the laser is making light. Even low power lasers can and will blind you. Don’t take any chances.

#1 set your focus distance
Crawl before
Walk then
Run.

Please trust the process. We will get your laser superpowers tuned up for picture engraving.

Set your speed to 2000 mm/min, power to 65% and # of passes to 1

Can you make an 2" square on the workspace and set the layer to LINE? Engrave the 2" square and post a photo of it.

Move the square a little bit, set your speed to 1000 mm/min and run the same square again. Compare the results.

Reset to 2000 and 65% but change your # of passes to 3. Compare results and take a photo for us to see your results.

It is unfair to pick and choose who gets to help you. Everyone that jumps in has one goal, to get you making stuff. They may or may not understand your project issues, but that is not their fault. If you don’t like what they say, just ignore them and go on.

Thanks very much i will try it soon as going to order a better engraver this one is not the best i have many thanks

You have tried to engrave at 6000 mm/m, which is way too fast for a diode.

Changing to a more expensive machine will not overcome the lack of understanding. It will only spend more of your money and get nothing different in results.

Thanks for your response will definately try what you recomended however the laser it self just keeps cutting out and the bluetooth doesnt work so will be looking for a better one thanks for your help

It wasn’t opinion - he was stating facts. People have answered your questions and you keep asking the same questions rather than trying what they tell you to do.

Seems to me this topic reached the end of its usefulness

Locking it now
Thank you everyone.
