Cannot connect Lightburn via STA wifi to my Ray5 10w

I am not able to connect my Lightburn V 2.x (LB) to my Longer Ray5 10w laser engraver (R5) via wifi. I’ve been able to connect via USB, and when connected, the LB Console when connected via USB verifies it is also connected to a 2.4 wifi Hummingbird (HB) I created specifically for Wifi communication from laptop to Ray5.

[Machine:Longer Laser Ray5]
[Software:v-1.8.7]
[Wavelength:460nm]
[Working Size:XSIZE=400.00:YSIZE=400.00]
,63,1024]
[MSG:Mode=STA:SSID=Hummingbird:Status=Connected:IP=192.168.3.110:MAC=64-E8-33-6D-B8-D8]

However, if I unplug the USB, the R5 device goes from Ready to Disconnected.
I have my laptop also connected to HB and verified the IP address matches.
Originally the Port used was 23, but I’ve changed that to 8080 based on other answers in this forum, and even tried port 80, but still no luck.
Any other recommendations?

To add, I’m using an HP Lenovo laptop for Lightburn

Are you sure it will automatically switch over to WIFI?

Not certain, but I’ve set up a new device with only TCP/IP setting for wireless and it never connects either.

You need to actively switch to that profile, of course. LB does not switch. If you selected the USB type device, LB will wait until USB is available.

Once you created the TCP-device, you usually need to go into device settings and change the port to a different one (the manufacturer should tell you, but often it’s 8080).

yes, switched TCP to 8080, still no luck
