Cannot get my max power above 50% Ruida 6445s

In Lightburn I have the max laser setting set to 95%. In my ruida controller I also have it set to 95%. When I output a cut file, I set my laser cut power settings to 100%. When I load the file in my machine, the power defaults to 50%. Any Suggestions?

What is your minimum power?
nb. setting the machine to 100%(95) is not smart in my opinion.

If none of the 3 options for reducing power are set to 50%, it could be your power supply that is “limited” to 50%.

There are several different power settings with confusing interactions.

With no job loaded in the controller display, the power level on the display corresponds to the default “manual” power when it’s used in Etch-A-Sketch mode. Setting that power level does not affect the power used in layers of jobs loaded from LightBurn.

The controller has a Maximum power setting shown (and settable) through LightBurn’s Machine Settings window:

Unless you have a specific reason, that maximum power should be 99%.

In LightBurn, what do you mean with “max laser setting set to 95%” and “laser cut power settings to 100%”? Where are you setting the “cut power” if not in the layer settings?

In either case, when you send that file to the machine, what power does the machine display show for the various layers in that job? A photo will help us see what you see.

Note the difference between Open and Import:

  • Opening a lbrn2 file restores all the layer settings in effect when the file was Saved.
  • Importing a lbrn2 or rd file loads only the geometry of the job and uses the layer settings in effect when it’s Imported.
