Cant fix extra line lightburn draws in cuttung closed shapes

any idea why it starts from a different point everytime I try to cut closed shapes like this one. how to fix this please?
I use sculpfun lasercutter

This is for the most part backlash on your axis causes - i would imagine - by loose belts

Would recommend checking belt tensions, sproket and all mechanical parts.

Once done run this test and send image, this is a belt tensioner test

thank you so much for helping
looks like there is a problem. any idea how to fix this ?

if you look at the circle, seems evident by the flattness of top and bottom the issue is on the Y axis movement (up and down)

Noticing your top left Y test it seems to be severe.

Make sure
a) both belts have same tension
b) your X is square with frame by moving it to the back and measuring distace from each side to the frame

Here is a collection of tips on checking your mechanics as Gil already suggested: Guide to mechanical adjustments and maintenance

gilaraujo,

I am having problems with my Atomstack A5 Pro (5w)
I have removed all wheels, eccentric nuts and belts. I have followed instructions to reassemble. I tested at 45*.

I ran the file from your link.
The image is square and the circle is round.
But if you look into the X and Y corners you can see
Rippling.

Can you give me an idea of how to correct?

Thank you

Your belt tension seem perfect

What you are seeing is lack of frame rigidity, which is not surprising on vector work at the speeds they are ran

the “wiggles” are based n the machine trying to change direction too fast, and what happens is the frame and module “vibrate”

No big solution for this except slowing the machine down

Thank you. I’ve had to slow the machine down to 800mm/min or less to engrave text as a line not fill to keep letters smooth not wiggly.

Seems about right
This is the main difference from vector to raster

Specially visitible on text as the accelerations and physics dont play along when you go small on font.

Is a compromise in a way, which is why at times i prefer to rasterize text instead of vectorize it
(not doable all the times of course)

This was realy helpful and changed the belts and it really made a big difference but still the circles and the shapes dont close properly  , any idea what could be the problem ?

Considering the test results there are 2 things that seem evident

a) your Y belts are loose, or maybe unbalanced left vs right
b) your X belt needs a little tightening too

What you have there is 90% hardware fine tunning.
