Looks like a good, solid anchor. When you find & fix the actual problem, you can remove all that and see what happens.

• A mechanical thing wouldn’t pop up just in one layer but then let the machine work just fine for other layers
• the behavior of the engraving is very different between layers

You’re gonna have to get over that assumption, because it is demonstrably, flat out, absolutely wrong.

the laser worked well for two months. Now, however, it always distorts both the texts and the figures. What could the problem depend on? I use Sculpfun S9 whit MacBook Pro. Take a look at the attached file [sculpfun-problem]

Look very carefully to find the hidden screw you’ve overlooked before.
