I want this ring to fill so it’s engraved into the top, but I have tried everything and it will just not close. any ideas please
The reason you can’t close the shape is because the whole ring is made up of disconnected lines. You can see this in the screenshot here. In order to close these you will need to draw line segments closing the open areas at each end of each pair of lines.
I can’t think of a clever way to accelerate this. I manually created line segments for each side, then auto-joined all the lines for that shape.
However, even if you did this I’m not certain this is what you want. You’d essentially get a series of solid 8 shapes lined up end to end. Is that what you’re looking for?
