Can't jog left or down, and laser is not full power all the time

I updated to the latest lightburn, and i’m not able to jog left or down after homing the machine. Homing works well with no issues. When I test the laser I’m getting full lpower instead of 2%.I’m using the sienci longmill mk2 with the new SLB controller. Been at it for 3 hours now. any ideas? connected via ethernet

Ever, or just from the home position?

Where does it home to? Bottom left or top right?

In Lightburn Device Settings set your S-value max to 255.

.

When using gSender does your machine jogs fine?

This should be 1000, and match the Device Settings window S-value max.

Jog issue sounds like you have a G54 offset or G10 needs to be set up. $RST=# clears the offsets. Search forum for G10 foe a how-to if you need to do this.

It´s a CNC. Maybe the changes are only accepted with gSender.

@dos Bottom left is the home. It never goes down, but sometimes i can go left if it goes far enough right first. It will go one inch to the right, and like .25 inches to the left…maybe. seems inconsistent. Even the values of where the machine is when i jog never seem to line up.

@MikeyH hmm. I tried it at 1000 too, I used to use 1000 for that value, was trying 255 in both places to match the instructions from sienci, thought it was something to do with their new controller. will try that. I’ll look into the offset thing. never used one before.

@parsec - Used to work fine. I did have to roll back to an earlier version of lightburn back in the 1.4 range when it was around 1.6. but i don’t like using old versions of software.

Thanks all for the suggestions!

Go to the console panel, click show all, then command the jogging moves and then paste the output in the console window into a post here.

Reset my offset, now i can move it around normally. Now it won’t fire. laser mode is on, 255 everywhere was replaced with 1000.
Went into gsender - and selected my spindle option(I guess you can have 3 different devices to control, spindle, laser, etc) so i set that to laser, now back in lightburn i can move and fire, but not control the power:

Is your laser connected directly to Ethernet port on PC or thru a dongle?
System OS?

.
Is your laser from Sienci?
Check connections.

.
Is the laser always on?
If you test laser power with gSender the output is correct?
.
In Lightburn did you setup your laser device type as GRBL or other?
Click devices.

.
In Lightburn draw a square 50mm side in Line Mode 10% power. Click Save GCode to a file. Change power to 50% and click Save GCode to another file.
Post the 2 files here in a reply for us to check.

.
Did you try connecting via USB?

its a Jtech Laser, connected to the new SLB board(the photo on the right in your post). I triple checked and its wired up correctly.

Laser does turn on/off. I only turn the driver on when i am using it. I set up the Laser with GRBL(I tried all 3 versions).

I’ll try the square tomorrow - I have the machine hooked up via ethernet, becasue i had so much interference with USB. I tried connecting via usb and didn’t get much different results so I went back to ethernet.

10.gc (299 Bytes)

Here they are. I notieced tghe difference this time(just updated to the latest lightburn. I can fire the laser and it seems heavy, but notice the difference between 1% and 10%.
50.gc (296 Bytes)

Your code is good.
Just a wild guess with the same 50mm square change to mm/min and display units to mm.

Send the 2 jobs to the laser and report back.
