Just got my Xtool D1 and everything works with Lightburn except jogging. Can’t jog with keyboard or
mouse. Tried all places I could find in settings to no avail . Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
I should have stated I have the latest Xtool firmware and latest Lightburn software.
Is the Xtool D1 a new device?
Xtool requires the use of their own device profile. I feel that you’ve imported xTool_D1.lbdev by this point ans selected it in the Laser window in LightBurn.
In the Move window, there is a Distance box that should have a number in it. If that number is zero the laser won’t jog.
I don’t have an Xtool D1.
In the Move window if I set the Distance to Zero, and try to click one of the jog buttons on the left side of the Move window I get an error message pop-up box telling me that the Distance is set to Zero with GRBL set as the controller in LightBurn’s Laser window.
If I select the xTool D1 in LightBurn’s Laser window and try the same Zero distance jog I get no error message - but again, I do not have the same engraver.
A screen capture of the Laser window and Move window might help us see where you’re at. A capture of the Console window in LightBurn is also informative and will allow us to confirm that you’re connected and that it’s not a communication problem.
There is an entry in the distance box. I can also select continuous jog which greys out the incremental jogs. I have configured Lightburn for the Xtool D1 and am able to create and burn projects. I just can’t jog. There is also a $J toggle in the settings I have toggled many times to no avail. This was mentioned in other posts to make the jog work. I am not at my machine and can’t get you the screen shots until tomorrow. Thanks for your efforts John. The Xtool I have is new just purchased.
In the Move window, with the distance box greyed out and and Continuous Jog enabled… Does holding the jog button jog continuously in the direction you’d like to go.
I am in unfamiliar territory on this one.
I unchecked most of any settings. Homed the laser. The D1 doesn’t have limits but still homes. Lo and behold i can jog incremental but not continuous. I haven’t given up and will hopefully be victorious in the end. perseverance does pay off in my experience.
