Centerline text technique

I have a project where I need to engrave an 8mm channel in the center of various fonts. My problem is that there are many of these and I cannot afford to spend 1+ hours on each word. All I need is to design the word and find some kind of shortcut to establishing a vector line right the middle without more than a few click of editing. Is this even possible? I have spent 50+ hours trying with Adobe products, Corel, Vector Magic, Sketchup. All were tedious, none were satisfactory. I am a 74 year old artist in business since 1975, and this issue has defintely confounded. Thankyou in advance for your help/suggestions

Can you provide an image of what you need? The 8mm channel implies some huge fonts.

The poster is 36 inches wide. Hoping that helps
Thankyou

Rob

A picture would help more.

Do you want to split the text and have a space between the parts or you want to “cut” a channel trough the text?
