Centerline Tracing workaround with Offset Fill?

Hi,

I would like to find a way to go around centerline tracing. (I couldn’t find a trace engine which could work well for me like Inkscape Centerline Tracing under Trace Bitmap) I thought maybe Offset Fill in LB could do the trick. I set the line interval higher than the line width of the object hoping that it could result in one centerline between the two margins of the object but it only engraved the two margins on the sides.
Is there a way to set Offset Fill somehow to engrave only one line?

Centerline in a trace is not a simple application to develop. I believe Lightburn has been working with it and I don’t know what’s happening with non Linux systems.

Offset fill has specific intentions and I’m wondering if you understand how offset fill compared to just fill work.

It has suggestions about when you should and shouldn’t use it.

Good luck.

Centerline tracing is in progress - I’m unable to provide a timeline, but it is enabled by the addition of our own medial axis code, which we’re in the process of building toolpaths and features upon.

Thanks for the info.

I’m really looking for the new centerline tracing feature. Please let me know when it is functional.
