CH340 driver for Mac

I recently purchased a SculpfunS9 and downloaded the Lightburn software.
I also downloaded and installed the ch340 driver package. when I open up LightBurn it does not automatically find my laser. I tried entering it manually and it continues ti say disconnected. I am new at this, what am I doing wrong or what have I done wrong. in the dropdown menu next to the devices list it reads cu.usbserial-14110

Hello,

I too run a Mac. What I found is order of operations is important.
0) quit lightburn

  1. power on laser
  2. plug in usb
  3. open Lightburn
  4. In the drop down on the Laser window find the thing that isn’t bluetooth.

laser works but it isn’t engraving piece. settings are set to 1000mm/min and 60% power

What material are you trying to engrave to?

First make sure your focus is spot on. Keep slowing down your speed until you’re able to make a mark. From there adjust settings until you get the look that you’re after?

engraving 1/8" basswood

Assuming your focus is fine you should be getting some level of marking on basswood with these settings.

Are you certain you’re working with mm/min as units? If you change the power level do you notice a difference in brightness level?

One thing to check is S Value Max value in Device Settings. It should be set to 1000. This value should match $30 in Machine Settings.
