Hi, I have finally got my omtech 350 to do basic things and when trialling engraving settings I heve no way to change the scan angle .
On my home computer the cut and engravewindow has an option to change the scan angle but on my workshop computer The engrave window is different and has no scan angle adjustment. I note that I do not have a device set up on the home computer 9Just for design( but the workshop is set to the omtech 359.
Diode lasers allow you to control the amount of overscan, Ruida controllers do not. They calculate it as needed. It will show up in the preview window if you enable the “Show Traversal Lines” setting.
Generally you don’t want to scan at any angle other than 0 or 180 degrees, this puts a lot of the work on the Y axes. This is mainly because it’s much slower to accelerate, because it has more mass, takes more time and/or power to accelerate.
The Ruida hardware only handles overscan operations in increments of 90 degrees, any other values have to be computed by the originating software (Lightburn).
Thanks for the support. I’ll keep experimenting and try to get my head around the difference between the diode and co2 laser, especially with the speed and power available on the co2
cheers John
