I changed from a k40 smoothieboard to a smoothieboard 5x and it was working for a minute and then I tried to update firmware and configuration file and now nothing works except the laser will function manually. The firmware won’t change over from firmware.bin to firmware.cur. I also copy the entire configuration file in GitHub and make a file with it not sure if that’s how it’s supposed to be done. LPs is a 100 watt myjg100 from cloud ray please help.
The Smoothieboard can be very sensitive to unusual or unwanted ‘End-of-line’ characters. When editing the Config file, the selection of a typical text editor can introduce an end of line character that is problematic, hard to detect and challenging to troubleshoot.
Cohesion_3D recommends using Sublime Text as the editor to prevent this end-of-line problem.
