Changing my Laser Options to something a bit more powerful

I have the Atomstack A12. The 10w laser was supposed to produce enough power output to engrave metal. Unfortunately not the case. Woods and plastics fine but not metals… of any sort. Could someone, a little more in the ‘know’, suggest a laser that would give me a straight swap from the 10w to something a lot more powerful? Many thanks Mike

Atomstack has an upgraded M150 33 Watt Laser that it says is compatible with the A12 Frame. But for the price they want ($750.00) it might be more cost effective to just upgrade to the A30 Pro 33 watt at $839.00. Sell your old one for like $150.00 and your ahead of the game

Be aware: the ONLY metal, a diode laser can treat, is stainless steel. NO other metals are possible (no copper, zinc, silver, gold, nothing). That’s just physics and a wrong wavelength.
10W is enough to use with stainless steel, it even works with 5W (though I also recommend 10W). You can try to coat your steel to see if it works better.

This has a 70W output module. I know I’ve just the modules, but here’s the complete machine.

Have fun

5 watts, 70 watts, it is still a diode laser. You can get an IR module that can mark some metals.

I have marked mild steel knives and aluminum dog tags with 10w and Ceramark spray.

I have the A70 Pro and i love it. I’ve done stainless but don’t know why you wouldn’t be able to do other metals with Black Marking Spray.
