I want to change the origin form “left side back corner” to “right side back corner”. So changed in Edit-Device setting - origin to the other corner. Window at display looks fine, zero position was left up instead of left down, everything was mirrored.
My expectation was that the machine runs the opposite direction, what means from right to left, instead from left to right. But it didn’t, still from left to right. For testing reasons I placed laser head to the center of working area and lasered different circles at each corner, then I stepped trough every origin spot. The movements and the results were four times exactly the same. The changing hat no impact.at all.
Is there anything I overlooked to confirm or change?
Hi, and in addition - editing origin does also have an impact to movement direction, so as far as I’ve seen there are two changes: in movement direction and origin corner and both changes cancels each other out. Is there any way to invert x- and/or y-axis only (like z-axis) without changing the origin in Lightburn?
And third: I’ve inverted y-axis via $3=2 and everything works like expected. Origin is at the spot I want to have and all movements are correct. Unfortunatelly because there is no option for this I have to do it everytime I’ll start a project.
In the console window there is macro keys… you can program one of them to send the needed commands… I know it’s not automatic, but it’s much easier than entering all the commands…
Be aware that the origin controls which quadrant the machine operates… They are usually designed to have a designated corner as home or 0, 0.
All machines have a 0, 0 origin… in the coordinate system
