Hi,
Merry Christmas to All.
I am again facing the same issue!
When i am punching my offset setting of 0.08, in my job,
whole shape of my job changes, actually it deletes some parts and decrease spaces between different parts.
But when i remove the offset, or punch 0(zero), the shape remains the same.
I can’t understand why.
I am attaching pictures for reference.
This depends on what you’re trying to achieve. Are you aware of what the kerf offset is intended for? It’s meant to account for the kerf of the laser cut so that you can have dimensionally accurate cuts.
If this is not something you need to consider then don’t use it. If it’s something you do need to consider then use it.
Also note that .08 inch kerf adjustment would be quite large in general. That’s basically saying that the kerf of the laser cut is 4mm which would be enormous. Normally you’d measure the kerf size of the cut for that particular material. Then kerf offset would be half the kerf measurement.
Thankyou sir,
Information is very useful.
I checked, actually kerf was in inches, but i was applying 0.08mm.
So now i have changed to mm now.
now i have calibrated my laser without kerf.
Thankyou.
