Changing the properties of a section of a path from cut to engrave

I am looking for the simplest way to convert a section of a line from “cut” to “engrave”

. I am using version 1.7.03. I am attaching a snip of the area in question.

The simplest way would likely be using Edit Nodes.

• Select the red shape, enter Edit Nodes mode.
• At the two arrows you’ve indicated, make sure there is a node there
  – If there isn’t, hover over the line and press I to Insert a new node
• At those two points, hover over the node and press B to Break the shape at that point

Once you’ve broken the shape at those two points, that yellow highlighted section will now be a separate object. Select it and change it to a different layer, set to Line mode, and set higher speed and/or lower power than you use for cutting.

Thanks for the quick response. Unfortunately that is exactly the method I have been trying. When I use the node edit, It automatically displays ALL the nodes along that path. When I insert nodes at the intersections, and hit the B button nothing happens. I admittedly don’t use node editing very often so am I describing the correct method?
