China Laser 500mW not work

Hallo Together,
I bought a china Laser 500mW and I will work with Lightburn with it.

have anyone an Idea how I use it?
Thanks a lot.

Everything you show here says it is working as expected. The maximum speeds are set very slow though - 500mm/min - so if you try to run any faster than that, the board will automatically reduce your power output.

hmm, that was ok for me that the speed is so slow.
But on the paper That I will burn are nothing to see.
As if there isn’t enough power.

What colour paper? Because if it is white, it will not work, the beam will just reflect off the paper and not cut it.

500mw is 1/2 watt. It isn’t enough power for much. I had one once and it would only burn black construction paper very slowly.

ok it was white

I had tested it for the original Software “Load Mini Laser”
The Software was bad, I had distortions in the Hight in the burning Picture.
That was the reason that I search an other Software for burn.
To burn somthing in Wood or so is ok for me.
It is a 100€ Laser with Router, but burn should he do.

I found out that:
the original Arduino nano with I bought the laser send more Power to the laser.
Why, don`t know. (may be the hex file–GBRL 0.8c)
I changed the Arduino Nano with an new one, because I want to put on it an other hex File on it. because I want to use first Estcam but there I had Problems with make gcode Files.
Than I change to LightBurn but there it don´t work with the hex file.
I loaded the hex file for LightBurn, now he do somthing but with few power (no burning Picture).

If I use the Arduino that come with the China Laser (use GRBL 0.8c)
Lightburn says that:

Waiting for connection…

Port opened, waiting for response.

Does lightBurn not work with GRBL 0.8c??

LightBurn has been tested with 0.9 and later. I do not have anything older than that to test with.

ah ok thank you very mutch

You PM’d me that the power doesn’t work at full capacity - what do you mean?

hmm,
the laser doesn´t work with burning Power.
only with max 15%
what can it be?
I testet it with GRBL 0.9 and 1.1f

I do not understand what you mean. Are you saying that when you set power over 15% the laser does not turn on at all?

no I want to say if I burn it with 100%
the laser have all time not mor than ca.15%
maybee it is a problem with GRBL0.9 and 1.1f
in 0.8 it works with a bad china program like
Engraver Master

  • What speed are you trying to run at?
  • What is the S-value Max parameter set to in Edit > Device Settings?
  • What is the maximum speed allowed in your firmware settings? ($110 & $111)
  • What is the $30 setting in your firmware? (spindle max)

You can type $$ in the console and press enter, or go to Edit > Machine Settings to see the firmware settings for your controller. If the maximum speed is lower than what you are requesting, the controller will restrict the power output. You will also have problems if there is a mismatch between the $30 parameter and the S-value in Device Settings.

What speed are you trying to run at? 800

What is the S-value Max parameter set to in Edit > Device Settings? I don´t found it

What is the maximum speed allowed in your firmware settings? ($110 & $111) $110=500.000

$111=500.000

What is the $30 setting in your firmware? (spindle max) 1000

Click the ‘Spanner/Screwdriver’ icon near the top-center to expose the ‘Device Settings’ window. Look to the lower-right of that window (I highlighted in red).

Ah thank you, the S-value Max parameter is 255
