I recommend you do a search in the Forum for each of those machines. Watch specifically for issues with the machine and Lightburn software compatibility.
You want a machine that will give you the least grief. My choice went to Sculpfun, and I now have 3 of them. Not saying mine is better, I just like my toys to play well together.
What material do you plan on lasering? Do you plan on cutting through it or do do you mainly want to engrave the surface?
If you plan on cutting through material, I suggest making sure your laser includes air assist. Some come with it, others consider air assist an add-on accessory.
I would get an enclosed laser… IMHO. Falcon 2 pro comes fully enclosed. I won’t use a laser without an enclosure.
I had a Sculpfun S10 laser that worked great. I really liked that machine, but I started doing some massive work for my employer and had to get something that would get the jobs done a bit faster. A couple of weeks ago I purchased a Creality Falcon 2 Pro 60 Watt which is an absolute beast. This thing is totally amazing. Now this particular laser allows you to work at three different output levels 22 watts, 40 watts and 60 watts. I have already tackled several projects and to be honest, I haven’t even tried the 60 watt capability yet. Today all of the work I did was at the 22 watt level.
If you can afford it, I would recommend the Falcon 2 Pro 40 watt which gives you both the 22 watt capability and allows you to kick this up to 40 watts. And the best part is, this system comes with an enclosure that is fantastic. When I had the Sculpfun I purchased the Creality cover for it as you really don’t want these things to just be sitting out there in your shop. I tried that and the smoke and odor buildup was awful. The Creality cover fixed this problem, but it was huge and took up a good deal of space. The Falcon Pros come with an enclosure that really does an amazing job and is just the right size for desktop laser engravers.
As for cutting, the Falcon at 22 watts does an amazing job. I’m working with mainly 3 mm ply and it easily cuts through this with 2 passes at 90% power. I could probably do it in one pass if I went to 100% power, but I understand that 100% power is a bit hard on the laser so I always stay at a lower number.
This is now my third laser and both the Sculpfun and the Creality have been the best. I would recommend that you buy the most you can afford as if your like me, once you have one you are already looking for the next model up. If it were me, I would be looking for a Creality Falcon 2 Pro 40 Watt while they are available during the Black Friday sales.
Thanks you all! I ordered creality Falcon2 22W yesterday!
