Choppy cuts and engraving

Just finished a 12x24 40w running a monport k40 board (from my k40). When running text on wood straight lines look fine but any arcs or circles are stepped. This is repeatable regardless of speed, power, or location on the bed. Arc tolerance is at default.
Checked everything mechanical over and over.

Doing cuts in acrylic shows the issue even more.
Running a square even shows the cut isn’t a perfectly smooth cut.

Anyone have any thoughts on what could be causing this?

Do you have a 100% copy of the software? Pirated copies will not cut curves.

Post a few pictures of how this output appears so we can “see” what you are experiencing.

I’ve seen those cuts while searching for a solution. No where that extreme. I have a legit copy.

The next place to look is mechanical. Belts, bolts and frame square.

Please show us you settings and results. Throwing out rh next step … Slow down. Try your cut at half speed

So it might be hard to see but here are some pics. Areas like top of the a, e, and f. anything that has a curve. I did one cut where it was a like a 45 degree line and it was like a step.

I’ve turned the machine down to a crawl to see if it would help and no good. while i did check everything mechanical many times wouldn’t the the issue be variable as cuts were tested at different sections of bed? They are perfectly repeatable regardless of where i cut.

So I think I’ve ruled out software settings. Has to be something with the machine. Seems to be with the y axis. I’m worried the steppers can’t keep up with the extra weight and struggles at directions changes.
