Circles being engraved wobbly on stainless steel waterbottles

I hope someone can help me. I have a Creality falcon 10w lazer cutter with a Chuck rotary attachment. All of a sudden, my circles are coming out wobbly (pictures attached). I’m making sure that both ends of the chuck is fully fastened and tight with no wobble, I’ve decreased my speed, but that doesn’t help. Everything is level. Can someone please assist?

Good day, Thank you. I’ve run the test. Here is how it came out

This always seem to point to a mechanical issue with something, usually the working axes.

The other option is usually slipping on the rotary, but since you use a chuck, we can eliminate that. I’d suggest you double check the mechanics and your interval.

:grinning_cat:

If it’s that rotary, then it probably has an internal belt drive similar to the one in the Ortur YRC-1 I hacked into my OMTech CO₂ machine:

The setscrews in those two pulleys can work loose, which will introduce exactly the backlash appearing on that mug. Each pulley has two screws:

There’s another pair of screws holding the chuck to the main shaft, deep in the smaller holes closest to the motor housing:

To ensure the screws do what they should:

  • Loosen both
  • Tighten the screw bearing on the flat while wiggling the pulley to center the screw
  • Tighten the other screw

It’s safe to assume whoever assembled it originally was having a bad day. :frowning:
