Hi everyone, i have a problem with an omtech laser 6090 100watt with a ruida controller. When it cuts diagonally some steps are visible. Mirrors aligned properly, everything tightened. I reduced the acceleration, 3000 for the X axis and 1200 for Y. I don’t really know what to try next.
I’d have the same acceleration profile on both axis if possible…
One will be accelerating quicker than the other and thus leading to a more jagged appearance.
Tried today but no luck with getting straight lines
Have you made sure the steps per pulse are both equal?
Everything needs to be identical for both axes as if one moves faster than the other, then if both have a identical pulse, one will move quicker than the other and result in a jagged line.
This work is so clean you may be seeing the limit of the belt drive system of your engraver. These may be worth a look.
These videos may be the fastest way to get to the heart of the issue. Russ offers an interesting solution - installing a belt made of a different material - backwards on idlers - to reduce the Chordal effect of the belt drive system.
