I’d say it’s mechanical
anytime one of the axes start, there’s an issue.

This looks like a loose grub screw.

Ive checked everything and then gone over it again would you say x or y axis ?

Dot Test with Angle.lbrn (46.3 KB)
Try running this file, please adjust speeds and power so it marks lightly only

Then post image of results and measure square length and width pelase

Attached is another test you are welcome to try which should give you additional information about your backlash.

See the pic below, run the test and if the start and stop points do not meet up for the circles in the yellow area - this is X-axis backlash, and if in the green it’s Y-axis backlash.

The job is about 150mm sq, and the job origin needs to be in the middle. The order of the circles and their start and directions have been specifically arranged to reveal backlash.

When using this test, you must disable ‘Optimize Cut Path’, and if the orientation is correct the job should start with the circle and start point shown by the red arrow. Adjust power if needed for light marking.

This photo makes me question what’s going on
Maybe it’s a better key to the issue if the other options don’t work.

X is clearly OK and so is the Y after the 90 degree turn, when it hits the green arrow area it shifts and there appears to be no active lasing happening when this occurs. I’d expect the area of the shift to show that it’s been lased

This doesn’t appear to be a simple backlash issue, but I’d love to be wrong.

This is from C in the middle photo. I assume these are vectors?

Am I wrong here?

Back lase dont get rid of the issue ive checked amd calibrated everything this is text created in lightburn i noticed the issue after the update and new belts was fitted drivers now changed still the same issue

If you are referring to the enabling of LightBurn’s “Hide backlash” option?, then that should help you with a decent visual improvement but definitely won’t hide all of the problems so you should not rule out backlash when you continue to see issues despite this setting.

Have tried that dosent work it just moves the issue on the letters or shape

If you run the test files and add pics that will help us to see the extent of the issue.
