Coasters were laser engraved on Sapele discs, then colored with epoxy resin and backed with cork. Holders are Black Walnut, cut with a CNC.

Nice! So, is each color a different laser operation after the previous color has cured?
Yeah. I wasn’t sure how the laser would interact with the cured resin, but did fine. Biggest enemy was bubbles. Even hitting the poured epoxy with a heat gun didn’t release them all. So there was a touchup pass before final sanding & finish.
