Comgrow Camera on Mac Ventura Doesn't Load in Lightburn

I purchased the ComGrow camera arm kit (SALE Comgrow Aluminum Lightburn Camera with Mounting Arm - Comgrow Official Store) and installed it.

I am using an M1 Mac Mini running Ventura 13.4.1 and Lightburn version 1.4.01.

I have given permission in Settings for Lightburn to access cameras.

When I go look at the System Report it says that I have a USB 3 port with a USB 2 camera installed. When I disconnect the camera, that report of having a camera installed goes away. I have also tried connecting a USB 2 hub to the Mac and running the camera through that hub.

Lightburn does not show any view for the camera. It lets me choose “USB Camera” when I am running the Lens Calibration Wizard. I do not ever see an image in the area called Camera View. I have tried to use all of the presets for calibrations but none of them complete the Capture process on the next window.

I have also tried to use the camera in other apps on the Mac. In Photo Booth, the Camera menu shows USB Camera with a checkmark next to it but that line is grayed out and I cannot make any changes to the camera choice. In FaceTime, the Video menu does not show a camera choice at all. In QuickTime I can choose USB Camera from the drop-down box by the movie recording button but the screen does not show any video from the camera and QuickTime always reports that it was not able to record anything.

It seems like I’ve done all the things that Apple recommends to use a camera on the Mac. Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

I’m almost certain it’s the cable/adapter and that a Thunderbolt Hub would address this. The differences between a USB 2 port and USB 3 port are sufficient to make most adapters fail.
