I am using a Macbook pro, the driver is installed, the baud is set correctly. The software says READY but when i try the home button, frame, etc. nothing happens. Thoughts?
UPDATE: When unplugging the USB LB shows it disconnected. When plugging in the USB it shows ready. In the console however there is a message stating it is waiting for a connection.
Great, LightBurn is ready to start communication but the Comgrow (or your macbook) is not ready.
When I tested a Comgrow Z1 on a macbook pro it absolutely needed this CH340 driver from this site.
This company makes the serial communication chip for the engraver. Be sure to allow it to make changes to your hard drive or your settings. It’s really easy to click OK when the macbook offers the pop-up but don’t fall it. OK might mean cancel the installation.
To select the correct port in LightBurn, open the Laser window, click the middle button along the bottom row and look for the port with the letters ‘wch’ in the name and select it. Watch the Console window for several seconds for a response.
The other weird glitch I noticed, after installing the driver and changing to the correct port in the Laser window, it still wouldn’t connect. Immediately after selecting the correct port, Click File, then wheel down and click Exit to Exit LightBurn, after that relaunch LightBurn. It then grabbed the correct port and connected reliably with the Comgrow Z1 for me.
