Commarker B6, 60W MOPA initial set up

Hello,

I’m attempting to set up a Commarker 60W MOPA with Light Burn 2.0.05 on Windows 11, 64 bit. The laser does not appear to be firing at 100%, the intensity does adjust, 20% engraves cardstock and 100% burns a hole in it. lol

I have loaded the COR file provided from Commarker, enabled Q-Pulse Width Setting, enabled Galvo 2 is X axis, and adjusted Max Freq (KHz) 4,000, Min Freq (KHz) 1, per the Commarker instructions.

I’ve been through various settings in the Cut / Layers

provided on the Commarker Material Settings [web page] (https://blog.commarker.com/archives/49730) but have been unable to see results with a single pass on stainless. Increasing the pass count to 10 or 20, there is a lightly visible engraving.

Am I missing something, should this machine be able to engrave carbon, stainless steel in a single pass?

You need to show the values set in the materials test. These are pulse lasers, so frequency and q-pulse width are important.

Bring up the edit material settings in the material test gui and give us a screen shot.

Hi Jack,

Thank you for the reply.

I have tried various settings,

Power 85%
Speed 200 mm/s
Freq 30 KHz
Q Pulse 200ns
Pass 1

Power 100%
Speed 500 mm/s
Freq 30 KHz
Q pulse 10 ns
Pass 1

All with similar results

I have not adjusted any setting in the Material Test, only on Cut / Layers window.

You changed 3 options at a time. Change only one and test then the others, one by one.

Hello, thank you for the response.
I’ll work through them one by one and see what happens.
I received the initial settings from the Commarker blog. It just seems like I’m missing something else.

The Auto focus was set a little low from the factory, approximately 182mm.

Troubleshooting and reading through the manual I discovered the focal length of my machine is supposed to be set to 233mm.

After updating the Auto focus on the laser to 233mm the machine seems to be working as advertised.

Thank you for the help
