Try using the manual method for creating the Device Type. It is very easy to do.

I’ve followed all the steps to connect my laser to the program. It may not be compatible with this model: AtomStack Swift 12W

“hobby machine often run GRBL” in your bio.

If it is a GRBL machine, and I am sure it is, then it is compatible.

Before Lightburn can see the laser, Windows must see it.

  1. Are you using the USB cable to connect?
  2. Do you get the musical tones from Windows when you connect and disconnect the laser?
  3. Do you see a COM port available in the Lightburn Laser window?
  4. Are you trying to run any other laser software at the same time, like LaserGRBL, when trying to connect to Lightburn?

Windows controls the connection, and decides which software gets to use it. Only after Windows makes the connection is it available to Lightburn.

Unless you get it connected, please answer all 4 questions.
