Hello, I´m new to the forum but I have forever wanted to connect a camera to my computer for my laser, the bad thing is, my laser is on the other side of my house and I can’t connect it via usb, i was wondering if there is any way of connecting it on lightburn wirelessly.
Hope you can help, thanks
Cuing a torrent of comments about never, ever leaving your laser unattended, because eventually it will burn your house down while you’re not paying attention.
Three Two One …
With that in mind, LightBurn has no support for anything other than USB cameras and, for the above reason, they will ignore suggestions to that end.
With that in mind, apparently OBS can make a network-connected camera appear like a USB camera, but you’re pretty much on your own.
I’ve always remained at the laser when in operation, other than to dash to the kitchen for a drink. If I have to be away for any longer period, my wife will be at the machine and the fire distinguisher will be at her side.
Twice I’ve turned away to attend to something on the wall behind me and had to turn back at the smell of smoke. Cardboard is a good material for starting a quick fire, one that will spread like, well, wildfire, and it’s easy enough to address when one is less than one second away.
Across the house? Your insurance company may not now know you have a laser, but when the fire investigators provide that information to the insurance company, you know they will and I’ll bet there’s going to be an immediate exclusion.
Perhaps install a remote-actuated fire suppression system that you can trigger while you watch the fire.
