I’m just getting started on using a laser/engraver and I can’t get Lightburn to connect to it. My machine isn’t in the list of devices so where do I go from here? I’m using a MAC so the software that came with the device can’t be used. Thanks
They claim it runs with Lightburn with both on Windows and Mac.
To connect the os has to be able to see the device. I can view all my usb connection via the operating system, but I don’t know the procedure on a Mac.
There are some issues with a Mac over usb that come up… but I’ll have to hope @Rick can clear up the difference in how the type 2 and type 3 usb is handled differently…
Mac has a few USB2.0 connection issues if your MAC only has USB3.0 it´s better if you connect trough the cheapest USB2.0 Hub you can find.
Install
.
Download Lightburn DeviceFile.rar with the definitions of your laser
Check if all is ok.
Maybe you can also connect trough WIFI.

Sorry @jkwilborn answered a call and forgot to press enter.
Thanks for hoping in … I can’t keep track of various issues with machines… I have a few of them bookmarked. I get the problem, just not sure of a current answer…
I guess we should thank Mac for using bleeding edge technology …
