Connection problems laptop to laser (ruida 6554) lightburn

I woke up this morning, turned on my laser and laptop, opened LightBurn, and it won’t connect

I have been using the same Ethernet connection for 2 years without issues

Troubleshooting:

checked all port connections and cables

used a different laptop

Checked my IP address was the same on Ruida and the laptop.

Then I tried using the serial/USB method on LightBurn (version 2.0.05), and nothing

Opened RDworks, ethernet not connecting, but serial/USB is working.

does anyone have any clues as to why this is happening?

I dont understand why It connects with serial/USB on RDworks, but not on LightBurn

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Regards

Dave

Are you referring to the laptop’s own IP address or the laser’s IP address set in LightBurn?

The laser IP address and the laptop IP address must be different, with LightBurn set to the laser’s IP address. The doc covers some details.

If that’s how it’s set up, then we need more network information for the hive mind:

Type those commands in a Command Prompt window that you start by hitting the Win key and the R key, then typing cmd into the run dialog box.

You may need to install the FTDI driver in order to use serial in LightBurn.

Re-run the LightBurn installer and select the serial driver on the last step of the installation.

I would also try a new Ethernet cable if both LightBurn and RDWorks are not working via LAN
