Connecting from mt laptop to machine is very temperamental sometimes it connects but other times it doesn’t,just wonder if my geevorks laser is compatible with your software
The connection problem might be in the USB cable, if you can try switching it out.
Sometimes the ones that come with the laser are not very good.
LightBurn is compatible with these types of lasers.
Hope this helps.
Hello, Lindsay and welcome to the forum.
If it wasn’t compatible, it likely wouldn’t be able to connect or allow any control of the laser.
I assume this has been a continuing issue and not just starting occurring? If it just started, was the an os update?
USB connections can be cranky. I’d suggest you make sure your os isn’t turning them off via some kind of timeout to save power.
If you haven’t you can search the forum for usb issues… I think we all have them, especially as the quality of these connections diminishes.
Sing out if you have issues…
I have Hp laptop also, and I had to move to several different usb ports and try different cables, before I found a port that worked consistently.
Hi.
Welcome to the LB forum Lindsay.
A bit older HP 255 G4 Win10 in use here, no problems what so ever with LB or the xTool D1 Pro laser.
A quick glance over the specs of Your laser didn’t reveal the USB type, but because it can be controlled with win xp, I’d guess 2 max.
So using USB 3 port (if any) on Your laptop may cause some unexpected behaviour.
I do wholeheartedly second the suggestion about trying a different USB cable first, the one that came with mine was a total dud.
Regards,
Sam
