Consistent Error of Check ALARM:1 Hard limit triggered. Machine position is likely lost due to sudden and immediate halt. Re-homing is highly recommended

  • Are you certain that’s the proximity switch for the Y-axis? Make sure that’s the one that will eventually align with the metal tab that’s positioned to trigger along the Y
Yes it is aligned (picture attached)

  • It’s not apparent to me the plastic piece that you’re indicating may be broken. Can you take a clearer picture of that?
    Updated Picture is attached

  • Instead of framing, can you rerun the homing test from earlier. Move the laser head to middle of bed. Then home. What happens? What type of movement do you see?
Attached a Video of what is happening (for Homing & Framing)—this platform is not letting me load the Videos. However what is happing is the same as before, only will move the the left side of where the gantry is, will not move back on the Y axis to the home position.

  • Are you able to tell from where the buzzing noise is coming? The buss occurs as soon as it gets to left almost, coming from the right side (see Framing Video). It sounds as if it is coming from the Laser, due to when I try to Frame from the middle of the machine, it is no where near the sides and the Buzzer (Alarm1 error occurs), but it could also be the sensor as well.

  • I suspect the buzzing may be due to loose belt tension or other mechanical issue. Do a mechanical review to see if anything is out of alignment and review tension or if anything is loose.
Checked all belts, they are aligned and none are loose

I have also even tried to change the workspace size of X & Y, still the same error

Oh… that plastic thing you’re describing is in fact the proximity sensor itself. At least one side of it. One is used for Min Y-axis travel and the other is used for Max Y-axis travel.

You will need to get that replaced for homing to work. In the meantime, you may be able to get away with manual homing but I’m not aware if the firmware will allow that.

Are you able to host the video externally and then link here?

Can you confirm that you’ve disconnected the Y-axis limit switch during that test?

Video 2: https://youtube.com/shorts/q_bC2UgCb1I?si=FU5j5WAmRcdlR-1H

If I disconnect the X and or Y axis, I automatically get the buzzer sound, the laser will not move.

I am also trying to figure out who to send the pictures and videos too so I can get replacement sensors, plus I do not have the option in xTool Creative Space, like the document say I should for the Limit Switch to turn off (see attached picture)

What does your screen look like instead? Can you confirm that you’re on the latest XCS?

I assume the video was with the switches connected then? Please confirm.

My xTool Create Space looks like the below picture

and Yes, the switches were connected in the videos

How did you get to that screen? Did you push the gear icon shown here?
image

If not, can you try pushing that button?

I clicked the Setting button. I clicked the “gear” button and see it now Thank You!!!

I am about to try a FRAME, to see the results, since I have turned off the Limit Switch

Ok, Turning the Limit Switch OFF, cause YOU showed me I was in the WRONG place, actually worked.
Now I have emails the support team, and added the pictures and videos, in HOPES they will send me New Sensors. For right now, the machine is working!!! THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH!

I guess I can work like this for a little bit (without the Limit Switch ON), until I get my New parts, Now I need to know settings for things to be able to cut out or what not.

Again THANK YOU

Great news. Glad you’re up and running temporarily and have confirmed that it’s likely just an issue with the sensor. Hopefully xTool is prompt with a replacement.

Enjoy the learning adventure.

In case you haven’t seen it xTool publishes a material list with some starting parameters you could use. I encourage you to run your own material tests to get the best results, however.

Material settings (xtool.com)

Ok I have some templates of burn settings. I’m gonna start to run them tomorrow for my tests!

Ok,I Have a question, if that is ok. Or do I need to start a New Thread?

If it’s directly related to the original Topic then that’s fine, else I’d suggest creating a new Topic.

Ok, Thank You, Cause I have been trying to look for the answer and I am not having any luck. I will start a New one.
