Enter $$ in the Console window and verify that you see $32=1 in the list. It is possible it did not register in the GRBL controller.
Does the Fire button on the Laser window turn on the laser? I have to set mine to 20% power to see an output from my diode laser.
Please confirm that you are using regular GRBL and not GRBL-M3 for your Device Profile. In Lightburn, in the Laser window, click the Devices button, and confirm the original selection.

Please select and copy the text from the Console window in LightBurn into a reply here. this will tell us which GRBL should have been selected and how the laser is set.
It is possible that you have a Firmware that resists changes from the user and resets them when power is turned off and on again.

The reversed, mirrored or flipped engraving is often caused by selecting the Origin incorrectly for the engraver.
If you are seeing engraving that is inverted Light-to-dark please save a copy of your project file and change the end of the file to read .txt and upload it here.
