What is it doing exactly?
Try changing $27 to 3

It will not Home properly. Direction is correct but it slams into the switch and does not bounce and reset like it should.

$27=3 this helped to get both homing directions working correctly. But it still slams into switches and does not stop. just depends on which one it is closest to.

this is with laser and gantry table not touching the switches.

<Idle|MPos:120.000,70.000,0.000|FS:0,0>

ok

Reduce $25 to 100 and $24 to 25, which should reduce the homing speeds to a crawl. You can increase them as needed after verifying homes correctly.

this is with the laser and gantry table BOTH touching the switches.

<Idle|MPos:120.000,70.000,0.000|FS:0,0|Pn:XY>

Ok. I will try that and report back tomorrow if I can.

The approach speed is very conservative (mine is 3000), but the pull-off ($24) divide by 4.

This looks correct. Another common mistake is that people mix x and y, then the laser will still crash into the switches. You can try to home the axis individually: $HX should only home the x axis. Try this. While the laser is running, you can already activate the switch and check if the head stops. If you need to activate the other switch, they’re swapped.

On the controller board. I am guessing @misken is on target with the symptoms provided.

Thank You! Thank You! I switched only the Y limit switch cable with the X limit switch cable. Then I tried the $hx and $hy and they both worked perfectly. Then I moved the x and y to middle and did a HOME command. they both home to bottom left like they should. Each limit switch is now working. Amazing!! Now all I need to do is figure out how to move the HOME location to where ‘I’ want it to be. Can you help with that too? I will search it of course online. Thanks again Totally needed this breakthrough tonight. Cheers y’all from Texas.

What do you mean exactly? The home location is always at the limit switches. You can change some coordinates here, but that’s usually not required. Are you talking about a different origin or user origin? There are also different starting modes, handling various setups.

Disregard. All is well now. Thanks again. I am now well on my way to good things with this laser kit. Cheers.
