👀 Create awesome graphics for FREE using AI for laser engraving

I agree with the opinion, effectively (from what I understand what AI is, not being a user) when an image seems too realistic to be true I immediately associate it with AI.
In my opinion, it ends up being another type of art. A different type of art that cannot be compared to photography or painting because it is so unfair, but which is commonly done.

Adobe Photoshop uses AI to create some crazy photos that you would never know were generated with the use of AI :robot: unless you are told they were … and I’m a former pro photographer who earned a living through photography. So you can say I know a couple of things about the subject

Okay, as I said, “not being a user”, I don’t have that much knowledge. However, AI, in my opinion, is a trend. As digital photos still are.
But you as a former photography professional, I believe you will agree with me that choosing the right specifications for a film roll, choosing the right light (often waiting for the right light), knowing how to choose the right lens, etc., is a completely different art. of the AI. I’m not a professional photographer and as an amateur I’m a disgrace. I would like to know and understand photography and take good photographs but I simply don’t have the talent.

And what about the power consumption (electricity and water) each time and IA is used? That’s so easy to forget because it’s remote. Your own computer is not required only the datacenter.

Wells Fargo is projecting AI power demand to surge 550% by 2026, from 8 TWh in 2024 to 52 TWh, before rising another 1,150% to 652 TWh by 2030.

Good point! Will ‘Deepseek’ be a game changer in terms of power requirements?..and the ownership & redirection of river systems water to supply corporate cooling.
AI art is one thing, but AI photography if also used with ill intent could be very harmful as photos are or can be the basis for common belief and opinion.

Still wondering if a poor quality photo or sketch made by me could be input to an AI generator and changed/ improved by prompt.

AI answered Yes to all my questions above.
3 - 5% less corporate cost.
11 times less computing power required.
And yes to photo/sketch input for correction by prompt.

Awesome & Ominous!

A professional photographer brings artistic vision, experience, and an understanding of human emotions, composition, and storytelling that AI-generated images can struggle to replicate. They can capture real-world moments, emotions, and the unique qualities of a subject in ways that feel deeply authentic. Lighting, perspective, and spontaneity all play a role in making a photo compelling, and photographers can adjust and react in ways AI cannot.

On the other hand, AI-generated photos can create highly detailed, surreal, or idealized images that might be impossible to capture in real life. AI is great for conceptual, hyper-realistic, or fantasy-based images, where the goal is perfection rather than authenticity. It also eliminates practical limitations like weather, location, or lighting conditions.

If you are looking for emotional depth and real-life storytelling, a professional photographer will likely take a better photo. If you need flawless, customized, or fantasy-like visuals, AI might be the better tool.

Ultimately, the best choice depends on the purpose of the image.

There is room for both types of art in my humble opinion however nothing beats authentic vision.
