Creating arc with radius of 50+ ft

We’re a custom cabinet fabricator, and I am attempting to create routing template using 1/4" plywood to create a 10 ft long valence with arched bottom. The template would be burned on my OMTech laser, then fastened together to route 3/4" maple rails.

The arc required for the bottom rail template has a diameter of 100.25 ft, which is larger than max allowed by lightburn. Any thoughts on how to create?

Create the arc in another app such as Fusion360 or Illustrator/Affinity Designer or whatever else you can get your hands on, save as an svg and import into Lightburn.

I attempted to create a scaled down version (with the intention of scaling up after) using a circle and a rectangle but when performing a boolean or trimming the circle it’s radius is changed. I’m guessing this is down to approximations and/or rounding errors. Depending on your required precision it might be good enough otherwise I’d go with @Newlands suggestion.

Here’s the file anyway:
Large radius template.lbrn2 (4.9 KB)

And here’s a dxf created in Fusion 360:
Large radius template.dxf (2.5 KB)

… and one created in FreeCAD:
Large radius template (from FreeCAD).dxf (5.5 KB)

The FreeCAD method might be preferable as it’s completely free and doesn’t require you to ‘sign up’ or justify your user status (as Fusion 360 does).

Did this answer your question @mdevane55 ?

It did. Thanks. I was able to create everything in Vetric and export the svg to Lightburn. Thanks for your help.

That’s great, I’m glad you found a solution.
