Hopefully this is an easy one.
I decided to try and engrave a carbon fibre pattern. To replicate the weave I have a staircase pattern and every alternate line is on a layer with the engraving lines at 90 degrees. By keeping the lines quite sparse it does a pretty good job of replicating the weave of carbon fibre. The straight pattern comes out fine, the issue I’m having is then cropping the pattern with a shape or text and keeping the staircases independent so they can be on different layers. Any tips on how to cut out the pattern and keep the layers?
Hi Michale,
You should be able to group the fiber pattern - even if its different layers.
Once done, select the weave and the TEST pattern > Tool > boolean assistant (Ctrl + B )
This should work and preserve the individual layers.
